On Monday 19 April 2010, Barbas, Bellfires and Continental Fires opened the doors of the new branch in Cluny, France. Cluny is located in the beautiful Burgundy region, approximately 90 kilometres north of Lyon.

After a word of welcome, the French dealers in fires and hearths were invited to be the first to visit the completely new showroom. Luc Florquin and his colleagues Eric Lainé and Philippe Ouillères presented the wood fires, gas fires and electric fires that were set up in the well-ordered and inviting showroom.

Then Eric Smit addressed the group; he is chairman of the European work group that is concerned with the problems around particulate emission from wood-burning fires. Smit presented the latest developments in the field of legal and environmental legislation for open fires and hearths. He again emphasised that all Barbas fires and hearths meet the strict Flamme Verte conditions which ensure that a minimum of particulate emission takes place and that a maximum yield is achieved.
